Ryan Adams is a Montana native and a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes.  He began working for the Tribal Wildlife Management Program as an intern in 2006, while enrolled in the Environmental Science Program at Salish Kootenai College.  He continued working as a technician for the wildlife management program while obtaining his B. S. degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Montana in 2012. 

In 2009, Ryan was selected for a biotech field position on the Northern Continental Divide Ecosystem (NCDE) Grizzly Bear DNA Project.  He was the crew leader for the Flathead Indian Reservation portion of the study area.  His overall objective was to collect bear hair samples from strategically placed hair snag stations throughout the reservation and Blackfoot River corridor for genetic analysis.  Duties also included planning survey routes, coordinating with local land managers and private landowners, and training and supervising project interns and volunteers.  He continued seasonal work on the NCDE Grizzly Bear DNA Project until 2012.

Ryan is a Wildlife Restoration Specialist and Wildlife Biologist with the Tribal Wildlife Management Program.  While he continues to work on a variety of responsibilities that he was tasked with as a technician, his main focus is now habitat restoration.  During his tenure with the Tribal Wildlife Management Program, he has undertaken a wide range of responsibilities.  These responsibilities include operation and routine maintenance of field equipment, assisting in the collection and interpretation of Highway 93 wildlife crossing structure data, aerial and ground surveys of big game and waterfowl on the reservation, urban deer management, and various habitat restoration projects on tribal mitigation properties.
